The purpose of the Organization is to serve the best interests of Islam, Nigerian Muslim Communities in particular and all Muslims in general. The National Council of Nigeria Muslim Organization was inaugurated in Washington DC in 1976, with only three foundation chapters from New Jersey, Washington DC and New York. The first constitutional conference was thereafter held in Newark, New Jersey.
