Official Website of the Nigeria Governors' Forum
The Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) as presently constituted is coalition of all 36 democratically elected governors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Its origin is traceable to a first meeting held at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria from April 26th to 29th, 1999 under the Chairmanship of Governor Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa State in the North Central part of Nigeria. The meeting referred to above was a seminar organised by the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This seminar was organised shortly after the 1999 general election and the idea was to model the NGF after the National Governors' Association (NGA) of the United States of America.
