Lagos Polo Club
Polo was played as early as 1904 in Lagos and ten years later a Cup was presented by Kaiser Whilhelm II of Germany to be played between teams from the then German Cameroons and Nigeria. The Nigerian Polo Association was founded thus in the early twenties, and has been functioning ever since, with the late Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Sir Usman Nagogo, who with his late father had traveled far and wide giving the association an international recognition.
